About the Event
Postponed - Date TBC
First and foremost to tell you all what this evening will include; we will have wonderful dancers from the Montreal scene such as Celestin Boutin, Raphael Bouchard, Rachele Burisassi and Yui Sugawara amongst others participating alongside Vías, led by Diana León. Also the trapeze artist Hugo Duquette and the amazing contemporary dancers Ben Mitchell and Jeremy Coachman. Alongside these dancers will be opera singer Spencer Britten from l'Atelier Lyrique who will fill our ears with harmony and virtuoso musicians will accompany them. We cannot forget some students of l'École Supérieure de Baller du Québec who will be led by upcoming choreographer Adrian Batt. After all of these we will be showing a documentary of around 15 mins which displays the public what we have been experiencing in Kenya since the first event that we held there back in 2018. If you wish to have a taste of that, you can find the trailer on our main homepage of this website. Finally to end what will no doubt be a brilliant and fun filled evening, we will be holding a live auction where we will have a bunch of prizes on offers for anyone who wants to help that little bit more so that we can provide the best possible experience to the children of Kibera for this special year of 2020.
This fundraising Gala is firstly our way of making this project a true exchange between Art in Canada and Art in Kenya. By having the events spread between two countries we hope to show both people a part of each others culture to help people understand more about one another and to make bridges between different peoples. Now in its debut year, it is proving difficult to have Artists from Kenya come to perform, but this is essentially what we would love to make happen in the future. For now the internet will help us showcase what is taking place on this special night to the children and public in Kenya and around the world. We will be recording the evening so that it can have maximum exposure to all those who are interested in this initiative.
We hope to see you there to join us for an evening of Beauty, Harmony and Hope!
